Hi there!! My Name is Kim Brown and I am a Peter Hess Sound Massage Therapist!! You may or may not have heard of this therapy before and if not then that comes as no surprise.... as I am the only Peter Hess Massage Therapy practitioner in the Highlands and Islands!! There are others in Scotland but I'm the only one in the Highlands. It's both exciting and yet slightly lonely being the only one, but my love and passion for this beautiful therapy and seeing how it has helped so many, makes it such a joy and I love spreading awareness whenever I can. The amazing, beautiful therapy that I am so very proud to be able to offer, is the use of specially engineered, professional therapy-grade singing bowls. They have been created to invoke deep relaxation to the client through sound and vibration. The singing bowls are placed on the fully clothed client and gently struck to produce the beautiful harmonic sounds and comforting vibrations. The beautiful and very special sounds and vibrations travel through every inch of the body moving gently outwards, like the ripples in a pond with the introduction of a pebble, evoking a deep state of relaxation that helps the body to readjust and assists it in working as it is designed to do. Our body’s healing process is often disturbed by stress or chronic conditions. We are amazing beings with a wonderful body designed to heal and rejuvenate itself and this wonderful therapy compliments this process!! The harmonic sounds convey feelings of safety and security, which quickly achieve a State of deep relaxation. The fine sound vibrations, which are physically felt, spread gently over the skin, tissue, organs, bones and body fluids throughout the body. It relaxes the muscles and stimulates the blood circulation and the lymphatic flow. Due to it’s relaxing effects, it is used in many hospitals and by many professionals and therapists in countries such as Germany, America and Brazil (plus many more) as a compliment to their existing treatments and as a standalone relaxation aid. The Peter Hess Therapy Bowls are specially created to resonate with a particular area of the body, for example, there is a pelvic bowl that, as the name suggests works with the pelvic area and the solar plexus while supine and also the lumbar spine and coccyx areas while the client is laying in the prone position. The heart bowl works with the heart and upper chest/throat area while supine and the heart, shoulder blades and cervical spine area when prone. There is also the Universal bowl or ‘Joint’ bowl that can be used anywhere on the body but mostly works the hands and feet. Hello! My name is Abigail Nelson, I'm a qualified dramatherapist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth). Dramatherapy is creative psychotherapy where we can utilise all of the arts in the therapy space to find a way of exploring and expressing your story and inner world in a way that is unique and authentic to you.

I provide one-to-one, in person dramatherapy at A Quiet Room by the Shore in Edinburgh. There are many reasons people decide to come for therapy, from getting to know themselves better to working through a particular issue or relationship. There is no right or wrong reason or time to get therapy, it is for everyone at all stages of life.

I have previously provided therapy in a variety of settings, including charities, community interest companies and within the NHS. I primarily work with adults, however I have also worked with teenagers. Experiences of those I've worked with include: anxiety, depression, autism (including late diagnosis), ADHD, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders, and trauma.

As a creative wellness facilitator, I run creative wellness and nature retreats, events and workshops. I also love to work outside, fostering deep connection to the self and other through our innate connection to nature. The vision of An Darach Forest Therapy is to inspire people to improve the health and wellbeing of themselves, of others and of the planet, using nature and nature-connection activities to achieve this. During the Covid Lockdown I trained as a ‘Forest Bathing Guide’ to develop effective ways to inspire and help people to use their one hour outside a day to improve and support their mental and emotional health and wellbeing. Since then, I have undertaken further training to become a Forest Therapy Practitioner. ‘Forest Bathing’ or ‘Forest Therapy’ is an increasingly popular nature-connection practice that has its roots in Japan in the 1980s, where it is referred to as ‘Shinrin-yoku’. It is the practice of walking slowly and leisurely through the woods or forest, inhaling the forest air, immersing yourself in the natural environment and mindfully using all your senses, opening them to the forest atmosphere and fostering an emotional connection to the landscape and environment. Forest Therapy has been developed into an evidence-based approach to improving health and wellbeing through the curative effects of forests and other ‘green spaces’, that is define as ‘a health promoting, salutogenic, nature connection practice that aims to enhance wellbeing, relieve stress, and encourage relaxation’. Salutogenic approaches to health focus on factors that support good health and wellbeing, and are therefore seen as primarily preventative forms of healthcare. “Forest Bathing is a nature-based wellbeing practice that enhances our natural ability to adapt to change in our lives, more positively and healthily, supporting a better quality of life.” I offer in-person and online Forest Bathing and Nature Connection activities and have a range of self-published books, booklets and guides to enable you to experience the benefits through self-guided Nature Connection and Forest Bathing walks. I am a mind body health practitioner who specialises in helping people to resolve their chronic symptoms and regain their health and their lives. I myself suffered for 8 long years with ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS), Chronic Migraine and various other related syndromes, and I had to use a wheelchair to mobilise. I recovered completely using a mind body approach (before then breaking my spine in 4 places in a mountain biking accident 2 years later but that is another story!) so I understand what it is like to be suffering with no treatment available. This approach changed my life and I now use my professional skills and training as well as my own valuable experience of long term ill health and recovery to guide others back to full health. My approach is rooted deeply in embodiment and nervous system regulation- we can achieve deep and lasting transformation when we drop out of the thinking mind and into the wisdom of the body. My decade of experience of mindfulness is intertwined with somatic practice, emotional awareness and expression, brain retraining and compassionate support to meet you exactly where you are and hold you in a supportive and compassionate space. I work 121 in person and online, have a group recovery programme and I lead workshops and retreats around Scotland. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved being active and full of energy every day. As a child, I’d run, cycle and skate anywhere and everywhere I could. As I 'grew up', life took over, as it does to the best of us. I lost all connection with what I loved most, that being the great outdoors, feeling strong and running wild and free in nature. I’ve made a ton of mistakes over the years (resulting in a lot of unnecessary pain and suffering), but I’ve come a long way since then (stronger, fitter and healthier than ever with a 5k PB of 15:54 and numerous race wins including marathons and ultras). I want to help you navigate the same minefield, the enjoyable way. I'm fed up with all the false information and money making gimmicks out there, so I've designed an easy to use, science-based coaching system that you can rely on. You probably haven't seen any of my groundbreaking methods before. I have also traveled to the Amazon jungle to work with the local plant medicines and to bring the teachings about the sacred uses of Kambo frog medicine from the Matses tribe. Anima Pacha also serves wide world community by creating Shamanic drums for other people or helping to birth their own by hosting various workshops.
