Pop-Up Healing Centre
We are creating Scotland's first ever pop-up Healing centre on the Isle of Skye. For two months, in January and February 2025, we will take over Sligachan Self Catering and transform it into The HEAL Inn with a series of courses, retreats, workshops and experiences for those ready to help themselves and learn how to heal and prevent dis-ease.
In collaboration with a range of top teachers and healers, this pilot will give us an idea of how we can run and sustain full-time healing centres in Scotland, and create a place where we can have a variety of options and education for learning how to heal, but also a place to go to be supported and held until you are well enough to do it for yourself.
We must take control of our own bodies and learn how to look after them. We need to be trained and not treated, it's the only way it can work long term. We have so many sick, and yet we have an innate healing power. But most do not know or believe and we have to change that.
We know what to do, now we need to turn that knowledge into action.
At Heal Scotland, our mantra and mission is to Educate, Inspire, and Support people on their way to better health and well-being. While we already strive to hit these pillars in everything we create, from online challenges to in-person events, festival, and retreats, we have a big vision of Scotland having day centres, retreat venues and healing hubs where people can stay and heal, learn and be supported. Ideally with a mothership which would be an alternative to hospital, where we use the science, the ancient and the new, to create the most sacred and respectful place for people to come back to life or die with dignity, surrounded by love and support.
Our book, Scotland’s Wild Medicine, co-written by Heal Scotland founder Lilia Sinclair and medical herbalist Clare Holohan, takes you through the science about how the body interacts with the planet, the 5 elements, the plants, trees, fungi, seasons and cycles. When we disconnect from nature, we literally lose charge. So imagine a healing oasis in nature, where people can be “trained” about reconnection to nature instead of “treated” for symptoms by drugs and surgery. A beautiful place in our stunning landscape that brings joy, instead of fear.
With the burgeoning levels of dis-ease and the destruction of the NHS, there has never been a more important time to create places where people can learn, supported and stay inspired. We need to create communities of people helping and supporting each other, learning to be of service and to live in a symbiotic way with each other and nature. This is starting to happen, but we need to widen awareness and generate some national pride to get ourselves from the bottom of the health and happiness ladder to the top.
This can be done only by the will and open hearts of the people, and with the current breakdown of trust in our systems, we may get there quicker than we can perceive. The government is not going to fix this, there is too much money to be made in dis-ease. We need to realise the power within each one of us, and when we pull our energy and resources we will create an unstoppable power grid.
The HEAL Inn is the first stepping stone to this vision.
The full programme of courses and events is now live and open for bookings!
